COUNTRY MUSIC STAR - DEREK RYAN & His Band
It’s been a long road for the Garryhill, County Carlow-born artist who first developed his lifelong love for music when his parents bought a drum kit one Christmas for a four-year-old Derek!
The roll call of success for the multi-talented Irish man is long and much deserved – with two Irish Number One albums, sell-out shows at home and abroad and fistfuls of music awards to his name.
Dozens of artists including evergreen multi-million selling star, Daniel O’Donnell, underlined the industry-wide admiration for Derek’s songwriting talents by recording versions of God’s Plan. Since then, with a combination of terrific talent, admirable determination and a continuous desire to do better, Derek’s career has kept on reaching progressively greater heights.
He has won countless accolades including Entertainer Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Best Live Performer. But he is perhaps proudest of the award-winning recognition for his songwriting abilities at the Sunday World and Irish Country Music Awards.
STUART MOYLES
Stuart hails from Ballina, Co. Mayo and took to music at aged 13 or 14; he began his life in music behind the drumkit. From a family immersed in music, Stuart has been a prominent and very popular act on the country dancing scene nationwide over the past number of years. Having recorded a number of albums and singles including his hit single 'Westport Town', Stuart is in big demand for dancing weekends, concerts and music trips to the sun and has worked alongside all the top names in the Irish Country Music business.
THERESA & THE STARS
Formed in 1972, Theresa and The Stars have been playing the Social Dancing, Weddings, Parties, Concerts and Pub scene since. They have toured all over Ireland and England, and the highlight of their career was playing on Two's Company Live Video from The Breamer Rooms Dublin in 1990. Their first recording was in 1990 for the World Cup, a song written by the late Des Wilson of the Cotton Mill Boys especially for the World Cup competition for RTE. Their Albums to date are Curracloe By The Sea, Mist Upon The Morning, The Wexford Heart recorded for the Bi-Centenery 0f 1798, Tony and Theresa Favourites, 40 Years On, Underneath The Lights, and James Connolly recorded for the 1916 Celebrations.
Still as popular as ever on the music scene, the present Band members are Tony Kehoe Drums, Vocals, Theresa Kehoe Bass Guitar, Accordion, Vocals and Sound, Andrew Smith Keyboards. They are very popular as a backing band around the South East, where they have backed all the top Country Artists. Tony is the Voice of South East Radio Country and Irish Show, where he presents Mon to Fri 6pm to 8pm, Sat 7am to 10am, Sun 11am to 1pm.
